Arbor and Drainage Study

The Summit Chase Cluster Association Board of Directors commissioned an engineering and arbor study of the common areas due to concerns about excessive erosion and run off storm water effecting common property and individual homeowners.  The study is available below for you to review how it will effect your property and the common areas.  Please review and forward any questions to TWC Management.  The board will address these questions at the annual meeting September 13, 2017.  Please plan to attend the annual meeting for this discussion as well as the election of officers and discussion of the budget.

Colonial Pipeline Right-of-Way Easement Clearing

This morning a few board members met with a representative of Colonial Pipeline to discuss upcoming tree trimming and tree removal. The board was informed that Colonial intends to complete this work on Thursday September 25th or Friday September 26th.

Colonial is required by federal law to maintain the easement, which means they must trim or remove trees or shrubs that encroach on the easement. A number of trees on common and private property will be trimmed or removed as part of this work. Colonial is supposed to notify the homeowners who are to be impacted. The board plans to take this opportunity to make improvements to the impacted areas. Your corporation during this work will be greatly appreciated.

Bylaw, Parking, and Trash Rules Updates

The board has been working over the past year with our attorney to update the cluster Bylaws. This document is a set of rules that determine how the Home Owners Association is run. This is the first time these rules have been updated in almost thirty years. The update is necessary to remove old out of date information and ensure that the bylaws conform to current law. In addition we’re working on updating the parking and trash regulations to help better define the rules and help alleviate some of the issues we run into from time to time. Since these rules affect all the homeowners we are asking everyone to read these documents and provide feedback to the board. We’ll take comments until the annual meeting in September. At that point the board will finalize the changes and vote on the new documents. The new documents can be found here.

A list of frequently asked questions/comments can be found here including a summary of the changes to the bylaws.

Street Sealing Update June 15

The entire street is open again for parking. We appreciate everyone’s patience. There’s still a little bit of painting and some touch up that needs to be done so there will be some cones out on Monday so the painter can paint the speed bumps and crosswalks. These will be done in two halves so the street won’t be closed. Just look out for cones as you come and go on Monday.

Street Sealing Update June 14th

Dominion Paving started early this morning and it working to get the sealer down as fast as possible. The painter will be here this afternoon to paint the speed bumps and crosswalks. After talking with Dominion they highly recommend that cars stay off the street for 24 hours to give the sealer time to cure and harden. First thing tomorrow morning the street will be reopened for all traffic. We appreciate everyone’s continued cooperation.
